Star Recognition

The 2021 awards for the Kansans Can Star Recognition Program were announced this week. The vision of the state of Kansas is to lead the world in the success of every student. These awards recognize the work Kansas districts have done to move toward this goal. The KESA (Kansas Education Systems Accreditation) model is based on districts creating and implementing a continuous process of improvement.

Awards are made for two outcome measures - quantitative and qualitative.

Quantitative measures are automatically calculated by KSDE based on data districts submit. These areas are Academically Prepared for Postsecondary, High School Graduation, and Postsecondary Success.

Qualitative measures  must be applied for by the districts. These areas are Social-emotional growth, Kindergarten readiness, IPS (Individual Plan of Study), and Civic Engagement.

On behalf of SWPRSC, we congratulate the many schools we work with that received Star Recognition Awards.
