ESOL Cadre
with Mike Toole
April 2, 2020
8:30 am - 2:30 pm
at the Southwest Plains Conference Center
810 W. Lark Avenue, Sublette
The ESOL Cadre days are designed to provide participants with information about Title III and state ESOL program guidance and compliance, Office of Civil Rights compliance, and programming for English Learners (ELs). Updates are provided concerning assessment, along with strategies to assist teachers in moving ELs toward proficiency in the four domains of language: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The Cadres also expose participants to state initiatives such as preschool, parent involvement, cultural diversity and accreditation as they overlay the English Learner student and family populations.
ESOL Cadre days are a special time for ESOL teachers to come together to network, share ideas and problem-solve together, with the goal of creating a community of teachers who work to assist a growing special population in Southwest Kansas.
