Bill is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a BS in Elementary Education. He began his teaching career in Delano, CA, as a third grade teacher with ethnically diverse students. While teaching there he became involved with the California Farm Bureau Federation in developing the Ag in The Classroom program.
This program gave city and urban students the opportunity to learn where theirfood and fiber comes from. As a result, Bill was chosen as the California Teacher of the Year in 1991 by the California Farm Bureau.
Bill received his Master of Arts from the California State University, Fresno, in Educational Administration and Supervision in 1992. Shortly thereafter, he returned to Western Kansas to become Hugoton Elementary School's principal.
For 12 years he served the students, families and staff in Hugoton as administrator, technology and curriculum director.
Starting in the 2004-2005 school year, Bill came to SWPRSC as a data analyst. In this capacity he has assisted schools in looking closely at their assessment data to improve student achievement. In addition he has helped professionals design and implement their school improvement programs.
