Kansas Joins 37 Other States in Adopting Common Core Standards
The Kansas State Board of Education adopted the Common Core Standards on October 12, 2010. These standards will replace the current math and reading curriculum standards sometime before 2015. More information about the transition to the new standards will be coming out from KSDE. This year Kansas students will be tested on the current standards, but Kansas teachers need to start looking at the Common Core Standards to be prepared to make the transition when the assessments change to reflect the new standards.
